History: The Puzzle of God, the absolute most difficult puzzle in the entire world. It is said that when two Phi Brains battle for its solution, a wish will be granted to the victor. Because of this, genius-level puzzler Kaito Daimon becomes involved with the P.O.G., an organization dedicated to raising geniuses with the potential to be Givers and Solvers, creators and players of puzzles respectively, as Phi Brains. Their wish is to unlock the secrets of the Puzzle of God and with it, to change the world.

In the beginning, it was only Kaito. By unknowingly challenging a Philosopher's Puzzle, a deadly puzzle designed to kill those unable to solve it, he found himself selected by the armband of Orpheus, an ancient relic which would enhance his mental abilities exponentially. Awakening to his true potential, he was solidified as a Phi Brain candidate and given the title of "Einstein." Soon after, his fellow classmates would prove to be fitting candidates as well. One of these was Ana Gram, an artist with the title of "Da Vinci." Though Kaito initially rejected the other candidates, preferring to work and solve puzzles alone, Ana's skills proved useful when Kaito had already reached the limits of his understanding. It was an art-related puzzle, which was why Ana was selected to help solve it, and he did so with such grace that even Kaito had to admit his capabilities.

Kaito grew closer to each of the candidates, and they became close friends. Together, they challenged Philosopher's Puzzles, freeing them eternally so they could not threaten the lives of future challengers. Each victory increased their skill levels, and finally, Kaito successfully became a Phi Brain, challenging the Puzzle of God together with his childhood best friend who had also received an Orpheus armband. Together, they eventually freed the puzzle and all of the secrets therein.

After that, things seems to return to normal for everyone. But soon, a new organization surfaced called the Orpheus Order appeared. The members of this group all held Orpheus rings, relics similar to Kaito's former armband, and with the same potential to increase one's mental abilities while at the same time distorting the emotions of the bearer. The leader of this group was Freecell, a boy who claimed to be a friend of Kaito's from childhood, but who had been stood him up on an eventful day. Freecell waited for him, and in that duration, his mother passed away. As such, he blamed Kaito for her death, and he vowed vengeance. Kaito, however, had no memories of this supposed promise. Together with the allies of the Orpheus Order, Freecell attacked the Phi Brain children through dangerous puzzles. He hoped to hurt Kaito by attacking his friends.

One day, Ana's sister, Eve, was used as a device to do just that. It is learned then that Eve is the one who awakened Ana to his artistic talents. Herself a painter, she used art to deliver her feelings to Ana who was unable to understand them and who felt unable to smile. Not only did it cure his depression, but it sparked his love for art. He began painting, and his talents allowed him to improve at an indescribable rate. It wasn't long before his skills had surpassed Eve's. Though painting was her love as well, she would forever be in Ana's shadow. The Orpheus Order had equipped Eve with an Orpheus Ring which enhanced those resentments. Kaito was then challenged to a puzzle with Ana's fate as the motivator: if Kaito won, Ana would remain free. If not, he could never paint again as he would have both of his arms broken. Though Ana could only watch as the puzzle unfolded, he stayed strong and presented his sister with the same magic charm she once used to save him. Eventually, her Orpheus Ring broke and she reconciled with Ana, even promising to paint once more. But Ana could tell that she was lying. He'd never see her paintings again, the ones he loved so much.

After several battles with the Order, the group soon learned that the Orpheus Rings bestowed upon the members were fakes. Even so, their constitution only made them more dangerous to the wearer. Determined to rid the world of such atrocities, Kaito and his friends rose to every challenge presented to them. Finally, they would bet everything on a battle between Katio and Freecell, the result of which freed the latter from his warped memories.

Once again, things seemed to calm down. The P.O.G., formerly the advocates of the search for the Puzzle of God, became an organization dedicated to tracking down the replica rings and destroying them, along with solving Fool's Puzzles to extinguish their threats. Things were progressing smoothly until a girl named Raetsel appeared. She claimed that Jin, Kaito's mentor and a former Phi Brain challenger of the Puzzle of God, was a man who hated puzzles and who dreamed of a world where all puzzlers were annihilated. Hoping to carry out his will in his place, she began to put Kaito and his friends through a series of deadly puzzles, all in the name of Jin's dream.

Though efforts to reason with Raetsel proved insuccessful time and again, it was Ana who took the initiative to befriend her. Recognizing that she was a girl who couldn't be honest with herself, he was certain that she wished to be friends with Kaito and the others, and he personally created a Girl's Day Out for her to relax (of which he also participated) and get to know her fellow classmates. Ultimately, though she had fun with the endeavor, she couldn't bring herself to trust in Ana or the others. Shortly after, she left suddenly with Jin, taking him on a journey across the world and leaving behind a massive puzzle in her wake. Kaito and his friends split up to solve the various clues left via puzzle in the world, and eventually they found their way to Raetsel and Jin. There, she challenged Kaito to a puzzle battle which awakened Jin's lost memories to reveal that Orpheus himself, creator of the armband and the rings, had entered Jin's mind and was bent on a future in which he surpassed the gods, even though it meant the obliteration of all life on earth.

Appearance: Here!

Personality: Ana is an incredibly free spirit and is very childlike in a lot of ways. Being that he is artistically inclined, he is openly expressive and enjoys humming and singing songs, dancing, and of course, painting. He also tends to speak in third-person and uses onomatopoeia to describe a lot of things. He excites rather easily, taking pleasure in exploring new things, and one could say that he seems to treat life like a game. He's always enjoying himself, but he wants others to do the same. As such, he is quick to extend a hand to those who seem to be feeling lonely. He's gentle and encouraging, and sometimes he can be forceful with his techniques, giving a literal push to those most in need, but he's genuine. He doesn't give up easily, and he will prove his sincerity time and time again. Still, what he's actually thinking can be hard to discern as his view of the world tends to be quite different than others. He sees things abstractly; he understands the concepts, but when explaining them, they seem more like cryptic riddles which need some unraveling. When speaking, he has a tendency to phrase things like, "The way Ana sees it..." which is a way of offering his suggestions without stating them as absolute truths. Most often, he can express himself best through paintings.

His carefree attitude can easily give the misconception that he is an airbrained idiot, but he isn't the type who would be offended if he was blatantly called one. Instead, he attempts to view himself from the other's perspective. Rather than facing confrontations, Ana is the type to search for amicable solutions. His gift is the ability to bridge the differences in personalities with his open-mindedness. He doesn't like fighting or sad faces, and he's happiest when everyone gets along. Still, he isn't an infinite well of cheerfulness. He's affected by negative emotions as well, and he takes serious issues to heart. Even being a genius, it doesn't mean he has the answer to everything, and when a lack of solution presents itself, he dwells on it. One could say he wears his heart on his sleeve since it's easy to tell what he's feeling, but again, this is only the abstract general idea. His actual thoughts are so complex that perhaps he, himself, has trouble figuring them out from time to time.

When he was younger, he went through a period where he "forgot how to smile." He spent a lot of time with his older sister, Eve, who was patient and caring towards him. One day, she taught him a magic spell that would thaw any icy heart: "Howawan, Fuwawan," an expression of soft warmth enveloping oneself. Ana, unable to understand it with the expression alone, asked his sister to paint him a picture of it. The result clicked with him instantly, awakening his artistic mind, and the phrase became the driving force of his optimism. Not only did it allow him to regain his smile, it served as a catalyst in his desire for him to do the same for others.

Abilities: Like the other Phi Brain children, Ana is a natural genius. His sense lies mostly in an artistic sense, however, and his contributions are generally abstract. He can recognize artwork no matter how broken up or obscured it may be shown, and it seems that he is able to connect with the artists of the path in some sense, though this may simply be through his deep understanding of visual aids. He is an artist himself and is able to create great works of art.

Other: Ana has a tendency to call everyone by nicknames, generally a double of the first syllable of their name. It also seems like Ana is somewhat able to communicate with animals. He has seemingly profound conversations with them and cites their speech in reference, but in all likelyhood, it's simply in his imagination. Also! Ana is extremely effeminate and wears girls' clothes, though the reason is never explained. He doesn't try to hide that he's a boy (and in fact will correct those who mistake him otherwise), but he also feels free to count himself as one of the girls.

SAMPLES;
First Person:

[The camera feed begins, and Ana waves excitedly to the camera, eager to give off a good first impression. From what he's seen, these messages go out to everyone around him! It was so exciting that he had to try it for himself, and so, here he is. Taking a deep breath to gather as much of his voice as he can muster, he then shouts as if his voice has to physically reach the outskirts of town.]

Everyone, good afternoon!!!

[And then, a much softer laugh follows. Maybe he was aware of how silly he was being? One may never know. At any rate, he turns his gaze downward as he continues to speak, though he seems to be preoccupied with writing— or perhaps drawing something as he does.]

Ana wanted to take a moment to do a self-introduction. So, everyone else should introduce themselves, too! That way, everyone can be friends. When everyone is friends with one another, the soft sun will feel even softer, and everyone will feel super fluffy! Doesn't that sound nice?

[He laughs again as he holds up the result of his work, a brightly crayoned drawing of what appears to be several houses bathed in all the colors of the sky and illuminated by the shining sun. There are some other figures as well. People, perhaps? It's hard to tell for sure, but it's an energetic piece nonetheless.]

This is a present for everyone! Let's all shine together!

Third Person:

Ana's eyes slowly fluttered open as he was gently summoned to awakening by the warmth of the sun and the sweet scent carried by the equally warm wind. It was like the epitome of a perfect spring day. He smiled to himself, already cheerful in response to such a pleasant scene, as he stretched his arms over his head, getting rid of the excess sleepiness with a final yawn. And after that—

Huh? It was indeed pleasant, but nonetheless it was an unfamiliar scene that lay before him. Could he possibly have dreamed so deeply that they turned into reality!? Well, even if that sounded exciting, it probably wasn't true. However, it could have been more that he had taken consciousness of his own dream. Times like these called for the pinch test! Without giving any thought to the possibility that he was currently planted in reality, he pinched the skin on his arm quite firmly and was instantly met with a sharp pain.

"Owwww!" he howled, tears already aiming to overflow from the definitely unpleasant sensation. He then blew some air onto the self-inflicted wound in an effort to send the pain away. "I think... This is a dream, but also not a dream."

Speaking in riddles to himself wouldn't do any good, however, and he realized that. In times like these, he preferred to have his friends around to help him make sense of these thoughts— to solve these puzzles. But he was capable, himself! He could figure this out, even on his own! Right, right. That was the determination necessary to do just that!

"All riiight!" Ana shouted, clenching both of his hands into fists and raising them up enthustiastically. Doing his best to imitate his friend, he adds, "Puzzle time is about to begin!"
